Experienced Head Gardener, 18th century walled Garden and Estate

This is a rare opportunity for a full or part-time Head Gardener to manage and oversee a well known garden and grounds with a small team of part-time assistants and volunteers.
This beautiful historic garden is open to the public all year round, but with a small footfall of knowledgeable visitors.

In addition to the responsibilities of the formal gardens, there is scope for the successful applicant to be involved in a wider role in connection with Estate policies and wooded grounds.
The role has good working conditions with regular contact with the owners who live on the property

Job Requirements

• Good plant knowledge
• Basic propagation knowledge
• Good pest identification skills
• Up to date knowledge of Health and Safety regulations
• Spraying and Chainsaw certificates
• Full clean driving licence

Experience

The successful applicant is likely to have at least 5 - 10 years experience with good personal and organizational skills.
